Our School and Kungfu Family

Our school wants to share the beauty and fascination of traditional Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong. It was founded in 2009 by Sifu Andrea Zilio. This year we celebrate our 10th birthday :)

Sifu Andrea Zilio - Head of School and Main Instructor

Sifu Andrea has been interested in martial arts, Asian culture and philosophy since youth.

In search for a traditional school she has found the Shaolin Wahnam Institute and Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit. Beside Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong, she also practices Shaolin Kungfu.

In 2009 Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit encouraged her to start her own school. Since then she is teaching as Certified Instructor Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong in Zurich and other Swiss locations. She has aquired the foundations to do so in more than 900 hours of training hours in Asia, Europe and in Switzerland.

"If I can share these arts today with my own students, it is because I had the privilege to learn from generous and dedicated teachers. My deepest gratitude goes to Sifu Roland Mastel who has introduced me to Shaolin Cosmos Qigong and encouraged me to practice Shaolin Kungfu. To Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit who encouraged me to pursue the study of Tai Chi Chuan and who has generously helped me to deepen my skills in Qigong, Tai Chi Chuan, Shaolin Kungfu and Zen.

The Shaolin Wahnam Institute - Our Kungfu Family

Our school is part of the International Shaolin Wahnam Institute. It was founded by Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit, to teach genuine Shaolin and Wudang arts (Shaolin Kungfu, Tai Chi Chuan, Qigong, Zen) to deserving students.

From them have come forth commited students and instructors, who teach these arts in many countries worldwide. Our international Shaolin Wahnam Family is currently present in more than 40 countries.

Maybe you are wondering what the name "Wahnam" means. Grandmaster Wong has chosen this name to honor two of his own teachers: Sifu Lai Chin Wah und Sifu Ho Fatt Nam. Without them and all the past Masters who have transmitted these arts, we would not be able to learn them today.

You can also find the W and the N in our logo. Do you see it? It is in the two weapons - the trident and three-sectional soft-whip. The inner and outer cercle also represent the hard and the soft, the internal and the external aspects of our training.
Red and yellow are the colors of our school. Red represents courage and righteousness, and yellow represents compassion and wisdom, manifesting the ideals of a scholar-warrior as well as the ideals of a warrior-monk.
